Metroll?
Has anyone here dealt with Metroll Cairns?
I CAN NOT recommend them. I recommend avoiding them at all costs. Go to someone else.

Everything written here is true and documented; nothing is defamatory if it is true.

I have an order number and delivery docket for roof panels Metroll supplied for my carport. They are very expensive insulated panels called Solarspan. They are manufactured to order and are recommended to be installed in a specific manner. The builder recommended the panels and Metroll.

The panels have to interlock and overlap each other at the joins in a direction away from the weather; away from the most common direction of the rain and wind. They Don't.

Metroll supplied the wrong roof panels and have tried to deny responsibility. Metroll refused to take them back and told the builder that as he had accepted their delivery to the site they had no further responsibility in the matter.

This was 2 days away from Christmas and my old carport had been demolished the day before and my house walls, external power sockets, mains power board and gaps under the doors and windows were exposed. It had rained heavily during that night and we had to go outside and nail large sheets of plastic tarpaulins over the dangerous items and inside the house we pushed towels against the window sills and door. The builder was forced into a corner and installed the panels as a temporary measure. what dress to wear for second wedding

Since New Year it has been a battle to get it sorted out. Metroll threatened the builder with court action to pay the account, but offered him a $2,000 discount to simply pay up and go away.

The State Manager of Metroll and the State Manager of Bondor the manufacturer are trying to avoid any responsibility. An alleged site inspection was conducted by a Sales Rep from Brisbane. He stood in the neighbours yard and looked across the fence from several metres away and reported back to Brisbane....."No it's OK"

I wasn't present, neither was the builder. The sales rep would never have been able to enter my property without me there, not only because he would be trespassing but my dogs would never let him get a foot through the gate unless I was there to tie them up. That's why people have dogs, to keep people out.

Had he had the professional courtesy to contact me I would have gladly allowed him in, shown him what was wrong, why it was wrong and how replacing the panels is the only correct solution.

Bondor can't tell me the date or the day or the week or the month the alleged inspection took place but both Metroll and Bondor are standing by that dubious report as being enough to stop me taking it further. Apparently it was within the past few months but the State Manager wasn't sure when. In a nutshell, the wrong panels were supplied and neither of these two companies wants to accept the responsibility for the mistake or the cost.

Both State Mangers reassure me I have a warranty for ten years; any problems please contact us. I DID. Hello, I have a major problem, the wrong panels were delivered and they lap into the weather and can't be guaranteed to be waterproof or cyclone proof. I can actually get my fingers up underneath where the panels overlap. A cyclonic wind will open up these panels quicker than you can open a Mars Bar wrapper.

The Bondor Sales Rep says it's all OK, but admits he has NO formal qualifications or practical hands-experience in Construction, Roof plumbing, or Engineering. But he does have 30 plus years experience as a Sales Rep.

He's a Sales Rep....A Sales Rep.....a rose by any other name is still a rose, and a sales rep is still only a salesman whether he sells roofing to a major distributor, cars to a dealer, or toilet rolls to a supermarket.

I need a sales rep from a Hardware manufacturer to sell me a wheelbarrow and shovel to clear away all this bullshit.

It's not over. Never treat a customer like a Nobody
